This had to be the most strategic episode ever. For the first time we had two great Human Chess players go head to head on Survivor. This episode embodied what's great about this season. To hell with who catches more fish and who gathers more coconuts. Instead, it was a battle of who could out maneuver who, who could gather information the best and who could swing or at least fool a key vote. This was the most technical episode ever. Sweet! I give Major Kudos to the players and the producers for what I think was one of the best episodes ever. It is now my favorite episode of Survivor.
It kicked off with Earl learning of Michelle’s boot. A lesser man would have felt defeated. Not our Funky Warrior Dance champion Earl. He got to thinking up a new plan right away. Mookie flipped on Dreamz for not voting with him. Dreamz has begun to burn bridges. It’s a risky game that Dreamz is playing. But I give him credit. He began as a very naive player and now he’s fairly crafty. At daybreak, Earl refortified his position with Yau-Man, Cassandra, now he included Boo and was very observant of Dreamz. At the reward challenge we had the old pecking order game. After being taken out first and being the answer to so many negative questions, Stacy had to rethink her standing in the game. Cassandra won and by doing so did two things. First, she proved my out of left field prediction right by being more apart of the episode and the game thus having more than just her usual token sound bite. Second, she took the right people with her on the reward and worked Dreamz hard.
When they got back from the reward, it was espionage, political intrigue, spying, and strategic maneuvering. Wow! Now what was already a good episode became a great episode. After catching Dreamz conspiring with Alex, Earl confronted Dreamz about it. When it became clear that Dreamz was playing both sides, Earl’s alliance pulled in Stacy. Edgardo was quick to figure that they had lost Stacy by what Alex was telling him. She switched sides and Dreamz was a double agent. This was like the JFK Conspiracy. Dreamz leaked information to both alliances. Unsure about Stacy’s defection Dreamz kept flipping sides back and forth. Earl stayed observant and he, Yau-Man and Cassandra began to piece things together. I began to believe that by the end of this episode we’d finally learn who was in the grassy knoll. Ha ha ha.
At the Immunity challenge it was a bit of tradition when they did the marathon standing game as the first individual immunity contest. Of course this challenge had a new twist. It’s Survivor, there’s always a twist. The Smaller, Stronger feet prevailed as Yau-Man won Immunity. The winner of the first individual immunity challenge has never won Survivor. It’s like the car curse. Oh-oh! When they got back to camp, all hell broke loose and the scheming hit an all time high. Edgardo and Alex surmised that Earl must have the Moto Idol, they’re partially right. To avoid that Idol being used against them Alex and Edgardo targeted Cassandra. Then Dreamz told Earl and Cassandra that Mookie has the Ravu Idol. So they targeted Alex, who learned that his name was coming up a lot and somehow convinced Mookie to give him the Idol by passing it to him in an inconspicuous manor. So they thought. Dreamz saw it happen and told Earl that Alex got the Idol from Mookie so Earl now targeted Edgardo but doesn’t tell Dreamz because someone that sells out his old alliance can’t possibly be trusted. At this point I start to believe that it was Dreamz in the Grassy knoll. I’ll have to see the Zapruder film again. Am I dating myself or what?

At tribal council, the moment of truth had arrived. With Yau-Man holding the immunity necklace and Earl believed to be in possession of the Moto Idol, Edgardo and Alex were confident that they had it right with Cassandra being the target. The reaction shots where the some of the best ever but I’ll try to do them justice. To kill all votes that might be against him, Alex gave up the Ravu Idol and Earl got confident. Cassandra’s name came up first. Alex, Edgardo, and Mookie smirked. Cassandra’s name came up again, the smirks became smiles. Earl stayed confident. Cassandra’s name came up a third time and the smiles became grins. Then it was Mookie’s name. Dreamz looked like the cat that ate the cannery. Sorry Dreamz, you were fooled too. When Jeff read Edgardo’s name next, the grins dropped into stunned frowns. Now it was Earl grinning. The Edgardo’s name came up again and again. Even Dreamz stopped smiling. Edgardo’s smirks, smiles and gins were long gone and all that remained was a look of horror while Earl looked triumphant. As Edgardo’s name was read for the last time and Jeff announced his elimination. All I could think to myself is whoever it was in the grassy knoll that fired that fatal shot at JFK, I wonder if he knew that by firing that shot he became public enemy number one for all sides including the side that benefited the most. Edgardo was the boot and one of my picks to win it all was eliminated. There have only been five Hispanic men to ever play Survivor. I was among the first three. We didn’t represent well. Edgardo can be proud that he represented Hispanic men very well. It was an Honor to watch him play. Jeff announced that because the Ravu Idol was not used it would be hidden again and there would be new clues for it. HOLY $#!+

Next Time on Survivor: Feeling betrayed, Alex confronts Dreamz. This could be volatile. How does Dreamz explain this one? Alex and Mookie come up with a new plan. There’s no quit in these players.
State Of The Tribe:
- In Control - Earl.
- In Peril - Alex.
- Player To Watch - Dreamz.
Prediction: Dreamz is going to be very upset about being left out by Earl, Cassandra, Yau-man, Stacy and Boo. He might even do the math and see he’s more on the outside with this group than he was with the four horsemen.
Out OF Left Field Prediction: It’s more of a wish than a prediction but I hope that everyone says the hell with the clue at Exile Island and just go buck wild looking for the Hidden Immunity Idol. I hope they just rip apart the camp looking for it. Not only would it be as crazy as “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” but the fake Idol is still buried where the Moto Idol was. It might come into play. That would be fun. Plus a little insanity might save some one. Ha ha ha.
Oh and as of the 22nd of this month, Happy Birthday To Me!
