Survivors, Friends, Adventures...

A big thanks to Dee Stevens (from 104-9 the Peak!) for sharing her pictures with us!
They say that all good things must come to an end. Well, I stand in defiance of that notion. Since my elimination from Survivor, I’ve been one of the most active players this side of Johnny Fairplay. From over a hundred radio interviews to dozens of reality event appearances, and even a few Pro-Wrestling matches, I have enjoyed the fruits of the ass whoppin’ the world saw me take in my mere six days playing the game.
One such event was the Good Samaritan Survivor Challenge in Johnson City Tennessee. There were many great Survivor players, Lex and Big Tom from Africa and All-Stars, Vanuatu winner Chris, Rory, Julie Berry, Ami, Twila, and Leann from Vanuatu, Frank from Africa, Melinda from Exile Island, Jolanda from Palau, Cecilia, Flica, Me and Cao Boi from Cook Islands, and Bubba from Vanuatu who was the Brains of the whole shindig. It was a great cause and a lot of good came from it including a former homeless man winning a new car. That was a Reality Charity event gone right!
There was a lot of fellowship amongst the players. No matter how little or long we played we all went though this special life changing experience that is the game of Survivor. Relating was not a problem for any of us. Because at this event there were a lot of Vanuatu players, I had to have heard at least a half dozen stories of the Vanuatu game that didn’t make the edit. My best stories were about what happened after the game when we were sequestered in Australia. I think everyone had a good laugh at my horseback riding story. Let’s just say that if I were a horse, I wouldn’t want me on my back either. Ha ha ha.
The most memorable parts of that week to me was, The Moonshine, (No Names Mentioned) the Kentucky Derby pool won by Flica, (lucky bitch) and the road trip to Cao Boi’s place that Flica, Cecelia and I took after the event was over. This is true Survivor camaraderie at its best. The Four of us took this 3 or 4 hour drive to Blacksburg Virginia to hang out with Cao Boi for a few eventful days. Not only did we go to Virginia Tech to pay our respects but we partyed every night, played pool (I got killed of course) and watched some cool blind samurai flicks!
We are arguably the tightest friends of any Survivors of any season and that’s saying a lot. The best part is that we are all such different people. We are a corporate professional, a long haired hippy, a tattooed roller girl and a shaved head heavy metal guitarist. I must believe that this is such an unlikely group of close friends that it has to embody what Survivor is all about and it has been trying to achieve on camera for fourteen seasons now. The four of us have transcended the game and instead have embraced the adventure. For us, we are not done living that adventure that we started in the Cook Islands. To us, the adventure is forever ongoing. If all good things must come to an end then it can end when I’m dead. These good times have just begun.
