BB Lane - Interview with Toni Ferrari

Toni Ferrari
03/20/2007 - BB Lane's Peb interviews Reality TV veteran, Toni Ferrari! Thank you so much Toni for this awesome interview with BB Lane!

Peb: As an aspiring actress do you regret taking the "Reality" road to jump-start your career?
Toni: Well, I am not retired. It took a while for it to come into the light, but with the reality tv curse I basically screwed myself for any possible hopes of a career in professional big budget acting. I am however just looking forward to maybe doing local plays in Chicago for the love of acting.

Peb: Can you tell us some of the pros and cons?
Toni: Pros... Well, I got to see some amazing things with the networks fronting the bill. Some of the experiences I will treasure always. For I would have never in a million years thought of doing those things.

Cons... Reality tv treats you like crap when your done, the whole world judges you on a few episodes, and the editing of the story is out of our hands, so things are constantly taken out of context. Reality is never real. It is just made up from footage to create a story for the viewers to keep coming back.

Peb: Can you tell us a little about your experience with Love Cruise?
Toni: I made two wonderful friends to this day - Laura and Andrea are very important to me. My two best friends... Love them with all my heart. Other than that, the landscape was beautiful and the adventure was great. The ship was amazing and I had a blast.

Peb: The timing was not good for Love Cruise (9/11). Do you feel the show could now be more successful?
Toni: You know I wish 9/11 had never happened. The show - screw the show. We lost part of America and we lost thousands of innocent lives that day. I wish, as the rest of the USA, 9/11 never happened.

Peb: Did you like the premise?
Toni: It was all right. I was not a fan of some of the people, but I guess with the idea there it could have worked.

Peb: How was Paradise Hotel? It was described as the opportunity of a lifetime in the most exclusive resort ever created. Did that match your experience?
Toni: Yeah... it does match that. I had a blast on that show. I was out of the country for three months living in luxury and had great friends with me... what a ride.

Peb: We've read that you've been the victim of a stalker. How difficult was that to deal with and how was it finally resolved?
Toni: Well the stalker thing was a bit scary. I mean people don’t know how to separate entertainment from reality. They really think they know us and how we are and what we do because we’re in your living room tv's a few hours a week. This poor bastard thought he would take it to another level with me. Now I can protect myself. When he crossed the line with my roommate and neighbors I called in the big dogs. CPD my boyz took care of the problem. Due to legal reasons, I cannot divulge anymore. But it was squashed.

Peb: Your name was mentioned often in the Big Brother All-Star house. What was your role in the exposing the Diane & Jase alliance? Did you watch the show?
Toni: Erika is a great friend of mine and I love her. Now due to a falling out with Diane, I exposed her plan to her and had Erika do the rest. I didn't really watch the show. I was working too much.

Peb: You have a reputation as one of the bad girls of Reality TV. How do you feel about that? Do you think it is reflective of the real you or more of a character you play?
Toni: Well the bad girl title is just that - a title. It really does not affect me. I know, and my real friends know, that I am a hardheaded girl with certain aspects. But most of the time I just love to have a good time, work hard, and be true to my friends and family. That's the best thing about Chicago - people knew me before this reality ride and they know I am still the same girl as always.

Peb: How was your experience on Kill Reality and filming The Scorned? Were you happy with the movie when it was released?
Toni: Kill Reality was a nightmare. I got to meet a couple of great girls, but I mean with reality people sometimes they just can't shut themselves down... it’s like they’re addicted to the camera and they don’t care who they have to humiliate. They want that spotlight and they want it NOW. Some of the people I thought were my friends... I just saw a whole new side of them and I realized, omg - I really can't be around this. Not that I am better... but man. The majority of them were a nightmare. They made Fairplay [Survivor] look like an angel. And that is one thing I have to say... some people can't stand Fairplay and with good reason, but that kid did not once be something he is not. At least with me. Love that... oh yeah and Stacy J [The Apprentice] and Trish [The Bachelor] were fantastic roommates... Love those girls.

Peb: So far Camp Reality looks like it was a lot of fun. Was it mainly a bunch of Burton's [Survivor] friends from Reality TV hanging out in a cabin?
Toni: omg... that was one of the best times, with great people and a lot of just straight up fun. Everyone on that show was and is a great friend of mine. Just think of your best friends on a vacation and all you do is laugh the entire time. We didn’t want it to end. Burton is a genius and I am so proud of my best friend. Loved every min... oh yeah... and Coral [Real World] should get the MVP. She kept us going with smartass comments and just picking on all of us. She made the entire trip.

Peb: Would you consider doing another Reality TV show or is Camp Reality your last?
Toni: I am done. Seriously done. The only way I would do another show is if I was making A TON OF MONEY. So since reality tv is cheap, I know I am safe... ha ha... There is no way they’re going to hand out that kind of money... ha ha

Peb: It usually seems that you are having a lot of fun. Do you have any entertaining anecdotes to share from your experiences in Reality TV?
Toni: I do, but due to the penalty of my friends kicking my butt, I am not at liberty to say... ha ha

Peb: What is next for you? Any projects in the works?
Toni: Going back to city I love - Chicago. And never leaving ever again. It is strange you have to lose something before you realize what you need and want. I know Chicago is my home and my heart. Hope to have my own neighborhood bar and restaurant some day. I just want to take care of my family and my friends... and hopefully see the Cubs win the World Series before I die. (Please God... give the Cubs a break!!)
