BB Lane - Interview with Marcellas Reynolds
|
02/05/2007 - BB Lane's GreenBean was lucky enough to interview Marcellas Reynolds! Thanks so much Marcellas for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions for your fans!

GreenBean: So what have you been up to since the end of BB-Allstars? Any special projects coming up in the future? Will we be seeing you on Housecalls next season?
Marcellas: I've been doing more of the same. I model a bit, act a bit, I'm a personal stylist and have a few clients. Lately I've been doing the talk show make-over circuit. I'm closing in on being the on-air style guru for a major talk show. I'm developing and pitching my own shows. I've been approached to open a clothing store or create a menswear line. I'm interested in both. I'm busy. Crazed.
GreenBean: You have had some pointed things to say about some of the fans on your blog. Is there anything you'd like to expand upon or clarify?
Marcellas: First I love my fans. I was once one of the most accessible reality people out there. Until season 6 and the irrational hate for some HGs. I think when people talk crap about others they should first look inside themselves. He who is without sin... Haters hate because it's harder to work on themselves. If you don't like a HG it has less to do with the HG than something you see in yourself you don't like. Something that person, you never met, inspires in you.
On a personal note, don't worry about me and what I do. Worry about your damn self. I'm just here to entertain. Honestly I don't even listen to it anymore. It's like static. Keep talking about me. Keep typing my name. It's why I'm still one of the 3 or 4 most sought after reality stars from Big Brother. I illicit a response. And I'm not going anywhere. That idiocy fuels my desire to stay in the limelight. It makes me work harder.
GreenBean: You've mentioned that Boo the Gnome went missing. Did you ever get him back?
Marcellas: No, Boo was never returned. That is the cherry atop my crappy summer sundae. He was stolen from my hotel room while I was in sequester. Of course. The producers of Big Brother house us in cheap hotels where the maid service steals. What else would be expected?
GreenBean: There have been some rumors about who you may be dating. Any announcements to make? Still a man about town?
Marcellas: I haven't been asked to get married yet! ;) Most of the rumors you hear are sorta true. If you only knew the truth! I'm a big dater.
GreenBean: You seemed to be the only HG to not get caught up in Chill Town's scheming and plotting. How did it feel to see people that you were aligned with fall under Chill Town's spell and not be able to convince them to see through it?
Marcellas: They had nothing to offer me. I wasn't caught in their spell. I hated how they were playing. But I was powerless against them. It just seemed so obvious but no one would listen. Not Danielle, James, Janelle or Kaysar. It's why I was so angry and disappointed with Janelle. And myself ultimately for going back. People only wanted to know that I'd go after Janelle. It was frustrating. That's how I would describe the All-Star experience. Frustrating. I didn't handle it well.
GreenBean: How did you really feel about making up with Danielle. Did you ever really trust her in the game?
Marcellas: I love Danielle. The only thing good that came out of All-Stars for me was closure on Danielle vs. Marcellas. It's the lesson I was there to learn. No more, "should I have trusted her?" "Should I have trusted myself?" Water. Bridge. Move forward.
I never trusted Danielle in the game. I didn't trust anyone. BB is not about trusting others. Everyone is a snake. We're all there to win. Period. I'd hoped I could use my past with Danielle to manipulate her to do what I wanted. Guilt... Forgiveness... Repentance... Whatever gets you to the end.
GreenBean: How do fans typically react when they recognize you on the street?
Marcellas: People freak out. I get a lot of, "Oh my God my mother/wife loves you!" I get, "Dude you were the only one that got it!" I also get, "Don't I know you?" "Did you and Janelle make up? She loves you." And "I hate Boogie and Will." And "How is Erika?" It's funny. I love it. I have only in 4 years had two negative interaction with fans I've actually met. After BB3 a guy on the street said "Oh your the guy that got punk'd on BB." You know I read him the riot act. And one night, during dinner @ The Palms, an idiot followed me into the bathroom and said I got played. While I was urinating! I thanked him for stating the obvious. And asked what it says about him that he was talking to me with my joint in my hand.
GreenBean: If you were a producer for BB8, what would you change about the show?
Marcellas: No comment. There are many many problems with Big Brother. Alas I still work with CBS so I shall hold my tongue.
GreenBean: You seem to give back to the community a lot. What are some causes/charities that are near and dear to your heart?
Marcellas: I put my money where my mouth is. I'm not some dilettante that just shows up at an event and takes a photo. I travel and speak for the National AIDS Fund. I raise lots of money as well as donate all year long to Project Angel Food. I also work with APLA and donate to Shannon Elizabeth's Animal Avengers. From those who are given much, much is expected. Isn't that the quote? I grew up poor. Now I have a bit extra. Don't get me wrong, I am not rich by any means but I do well. I wanna help those that need it because I do believe in karma.
GreenBean: Finally, do you have any great style tips for us?
Marcellas: Gosh so many! Unless you live in a state where it snows, stay the hell away from UGGS! If you aren't at least 5'9" and thin stay away from UGGS and don't attempt this new trend of skinny jeans tucked inside high boots! People in L.A. look like pirates! Aye matey that's horrible! Girls wear heels! The higher the better! As Veronica Webb once said, "It puts your ass on a pedestal." Always dress up instead of down. It's better to be over-dressed than under. If you look great it starts a conversation. If you look like hell it starts conversations you won't be part of. Yes, you will be talked about and not in a good way. Sweats are for the gym. Period. Nobody wants to read a slogan on your butt. If you are a man the cut off for Abercrombie is 22. I don't care how buff you are. And as Truvy Jones said in Steel magnolias, "Smile. It increases your face value!"
