I don't understand how anyone expects the have nots to win. They are so defeated..i feel so sorry for them(except rocky cause he seems to be an ass).
I do agree that they should have done better at the food challenge..but possibly their stomachs were upset from lack of food..then to gorge yourself with something gross could be difficult.
Boo is my favorite..but i don't like the way the haves are living so i hope things change and things even out soon..Thankfully Boo didn't get hurt this episode.
Thanks for the great blog Billy!! Once again you gave us a real insiders look at Survivor.

Another great blog, Billy!
All signs are pointing to Yau-Man finding that Idol. From sneaking into Sylvia's bag to his constant talk about wanting to find it. It would come as no shock if he did find it. Would rather have Earl or Mookie find it....
I think Earl, Michelle, and Mookie are the strongest on Ravu. James/Rocky needs to GO.
Lisi may have been vocalizing what everyone else was thinking about Gary, but she's ugh. Cassandra will prolly fly even more under the radar, if that's humanly possible, but either she will go next from their tribe or Dreamz. I thought in the previews the alliance of Boo/Ed/Lisi/Stacy/Alex would get shaken up, like the guys don't trust the girls. Lisi needs to go, IMO.
Edgardo is yummy! [smilie=hearts.gif] [smilie=hearts.gif] [smilie=hearts.gif]

Yeah, Rocky is getting too Cocky! (Ryme intended ha ha ha)
Cassandra is flying so low she's needs the alliance of five to splinter or for some one like Dreamz to talk himself into getting the boot to Survive another vote.

I can see the method to Moto's madness. They must be figuring that the Luxury is why they are winning and not that they match up better. If so Then it makes sense. But I think that the inter-personal Chemestry is as much to blame for Ravu's losses as anything. They just don't get along.

You hit the nail on the head about what stress, hunger and dehydration does. But some people can still find the right way to communicate and some people can't. They just react and not think things through like they normally would. It does become a contest of who can handle the adversity best.

The option to switch camps or vote someone off was kinda interesting to see which they would do, but I think it would have been more interesting to make them swap camps. I'm hoping there is a lot of excitement in the second half. The hints that Dimples gave at the beginning of the season made it sound like there would be.

Somethings gotta give. I'd like to see a reshuffling of the tribes. A pick a rock to stand over, drop your buffs, get your new buffs from underneath the rock, that's your new tribes moment.
Either that or make a team that wins compete individually the winner picks new teams and then picks which team he wants to be on. That would be interesting. He/she would make friends on one tribe and enemies on the other.
These guys are not so interesting on their own so their gonna have to help them be interesting with twists.

I went to an open casting call where I did my video in person. The first one I did I bombed. Then I stuck around and got lucky enough to get a second shot. That Time i got Coached and I nailed it. So I'm going to pass along what I was told.
You need to grab their attention in the very first few seconds. producers multi task when they watch these so sometimes a simple Listen Up is good enough. You've got to come through the TV screen so amp your personality up to 10! And the players narrarate the show so you have to be able to tell a story in the form of a conversation with the viewers. So when you discribe why you should be on survivor do it in the form of a storyline instead of bullet points. Finally, You have to be different without being campy or over the top. Bright colors or a unique accessory can go a long way. No costumes though. Stay away from Gimics.
Ok, Hope that helps.

Good episode. Lots of stuff happened.
yau man/earl -- while nothing came to fruition, it was nice to see some strategy used, and Earl's awesome, btw.
Stacy and Lisi need to go home. They were so rude. Alex was even put off by them, and no one understood his strategy of trying to include Cassandra/Dreamz. I completely agreed with his POV. BTW, he said they would DEFLECT, it's DEFECT! I remember Kaysar on BB always using that word when talking about James defecting from their alliance. lol
In other Alex news....apparently he was arrested recently..info at Jokers.
Ravu was so close to winning, that had to hurt. I think even Jeff even started to tear up for them.
Another blindside elimination.....Michelle was so sure Anthony would go too...her little bit at the campfire where she tossed Anthony's name out to everyone was a little bothersome, can't explain it really.
Next episode, March 21st (Wednesday) due to March Madness.

Billy,
I have a question if you have time...
How much do people lose sight of the fact that those they treat like second class citizens may sit on a jury deciding their fate?
I seems to me that most people only start to think about that part of the game when there are 4 or 5 players left (when it can be too late).

I'm interested in the surprise too.
I was so glad to see the scenes from next week. This has been way too lopsided. The reward challenge this week was a joke. How could they have a game of brute strength when one team is exhausted and malnurished & the other has been very comfortable. I hope the game really gets going next week.

You know I noticed the getting rid of the girls thing too. Michelle on Ravu is the only girl left. It's a good thing they are shaking things up otherwise she would probably be doomed.

I seems to me that most people only start to think about that part of the game when there are 4 or 5 players left (when it can be too late).
Thanks to all of you for all of the kind words.
Great Question.
I think there is so little stimulation out there that it's easy to get intoxicated by things like getting drunk off laughter or in Lisi's case, Like JP on my season, getting drunk with Power. When you're intoxicated, you don't have your better judgment.
Stimulation deprevation never gets talked about. The food we eat has no taste, that's why winning spices is always a big deal. If there is no storm then there is no weather. As green as everything is, the sent is always this strong but same smell. It's so strong that you don't smell each other's body odor. You don't even smell the ocean. Just when the wind blows which is almost never. So when we do get something, anything, it's easy to get drunk off it. It can be a good joke, or Power, or chocolate, or affection. Remember Survivor Amazon and how one player had hit such a low that she was ready to quit then when they mix the tribes and got some affection from one of the guys that came over she suddenly had new life in her.
Plus there is so much down time that it's hard to keep up an act. If you really don't like some one it's hard to pretend that you do all day everyday. Not many have done it successfully. And if others find out that you are putting on an act then that's worse than telling a lie. I guess because you are being the lie.

On the substance of the blog, I loved this episode, except for Anthony being berated at tribal council.
I think it is way to early to call the idol a bust. Lisi is strolling back into camp with all the clues. She is likely to be left in charge of the fire & water. Who know what could happen there. Yau-man or Earl could likely find the idol soon as well.
I did love Jeff's comments to and about Lisi.

On the previews for next week they showed Yau Man with a pick digging like a madman, was he digging for the idol? He doesn't even live in that camp anymore.

I think there is one at each camp. The clues should be for people at either camp, right? Because people from either camp could have been sent to Exile Island.

it's not that early....I know....this Survivor is flying by too quickly. If they follow the format of last season, The Jury starts this round coming. I think the Immunity idol is in danger of being use like gary in guatemala....Just save someone for a round and that's it. Last season yule used it to gain a massive amount of loyalty. Johnathan, who was in great shape after the mutiny, jumped sides because of the idol. Terry in Exile Island used it to shift loyalties as well. He got Courtney out by showing glances of the idol. That won't happen this time. As for Lisi, well Lisi was very disinterested in the clues to the Idol. I question if she'll even look for it until she's sure she's on the block. and even then she seemed to ready to leave.

I think the theme of players being so embarrased that they are $#!+ Faced is going to have a Major climax. I think there will be a bit of a build up before that. Then when the numbers of players are in single digits then that big discision that Jeff mentioned at my season's reunion show will happen. And I get the feeling that the discision will leave someone as the most embarrased player ever. Everything is pointing to that. I hate to say it but there are certain aspects of Survivor's editing style that, to former players, makes things a little predictable. So no one should be surprised if former players sound like they saw these episodes before when they haven't.

I wonder if someone is going to uncover Yau-man's fake idol and believe they really found the idol and try to use it at TC sometime. Talk about e-m-b-a-r-a-s-s-i-n-g and d-i-s-a-p-p-o-i-n-t-i-n-g .

I'll be in Johnson City East Tennessee Saturday, May 5, 2007 for the First Annual Good Samaritan Survivor Challenge. Seven lucky Fans will be drawn from a pool to compete against real former Survivor players from various seasons with all proceeds going to the Good Samaritan Charity. Enter as often as you like. Special thanks to Bubba from Vanauatu and WKOS for including me. Go to http://www.wkos.com/uploads/SURVIVOR%20CA RD%20DONE... for the application. Those that don't get picked to play will still get to see the game.

Billy I am so glad Lisi is gone..she got on my last nerve. I am pulling for Yau man..he rocks and definitely is full of surprises. The show is starting to rock..good thing as i was starting to really lose interest.
Ravu totally sucked at the dancing and i do mean sucked. I predict the next one to go is Stacy...but then i have been way out before.
Another great blog Billy, Thanks!!

Thanks. I love this blooper reel aproach. It proves an old theory of mine from years ago. I always believed that Survivor was born from Mark Burnett mixing his Eco challange with America's Funniest Home Video. You blindfold the contestans in one challenge and put them on a slip and slide in an other and you force that blooper reel action to happen. Kudos to the producers. They've realized that starving the players too much creates too much inactivity. It's better to frustrate them with crazy challenges. ha ha ha. Bring on the dunk tank! he he he.

I wish Stacy would get the boot. She's so not deserving to be there.
Alex has got to be a Big Brother fan. He uses plenty of BB strategy and terms. If anyone from BB Lane ever interviews Alex, please ask if he is a BB fan. Thanks!
I said it in another post, but I agree that Earl is the one in control.
Dreamz also needs to go.

Alex did have great strategy. I was rooting for him. I am rooting for Yau-man as well.
Paradise, I can't believe that you are rooting for Dreamz. He has some of the worst strategy that I have ever seen to date. I appeciate the hard-luck story and I wish him well, but I really don't want him to win.

True, but why are you rooting for Dreamz? I think there needs to be a reason. I like to root for the most skilled or sometimes the most personable or sometimes the cutest (I never claimed not to be shallow). I know that you often root for the most hated, but why Dreamz in particular?

Yau would be the most unlikley champion ever. But I expect Earl to win it all. He's more of the champion that Survivor needs. A charismatic chess player. That was the mold that Richard Hatch created. Earl is much more like-able than Hatch so he would be a more media friendly champion too. I love Yule but he's too quiet. Earl is the right player to represent the game. But Yau-man would be proof that you can't judge a book by it's cover and that luck of the draw early on plays a huge role in the game. On the other tribe he would have never found anyone to aline with.

I think or would like to see a cassandra, earl, boo final three.
As for Yau beating earl. It would be close but I think earl would win. Alex, Ed, rocky, and mookie would all vote earl. I think. the question is would Dreamz.

Boo may just keep winning immunity and end up at the end which i wouldn't mind. Boo is pretty easy on the eyes Cassandra..eh..not so much..but then again I rarely cheer for a woman(i know..but i don't). I can hardly wait for the finale.

Having not watched Survivor this season, but reading about Yau-Man, he seems like a really funny guy. I would love to see him wiggle his way to a win.
I agree with Billy that someone in the mold of Richard Hatch winning this game is perfect.
But everything I have read about Yau makes me think he has played this game hard and might just deserve to win it.
I'm mean, cuz you're stupid.

My pleasure. I was a fan long before I was a player and for years I used to read the blogs and it always seemed like every word was just too mean to be enjoyable. So I tried to write the blog that I wished I would have read all those years.
Thank you all for reading them. I love the feedback.

You are absolutely right!
Sometimes a blog can turn out to be a bashing session just filled with opinion, and not enjoyable.
Your blog is not only informative but very entertaining. Not everyone has the ability to make that happen. WTG Billy!

Ha ha ha. I can't help but to stir things up sometimes.
Some of the things I write are meant to be hard to agree with thus the constant reference to "out of left field." I feel making too many safe observations is a conversation killer. But I also feel that nonstop bashing is a sign of immaturity.
Thanks for all of the compliments.

Good job man!!! It was great to read you. You need to stay put for other seasons.
And i agree, Dreamz did the right move and never forgot it was A GAME. I applaud him for that. When does in real life you have to lick leaves, cut the head of a snake, go to a spa, sleep on the ground, play in mud, go to a spa, eat crap, starve, throw arrows, win a weird necklace to save yourself, go to a spa and sit around a bunch of people you have no connections with and kick them out to save your butt?
But i'm not surprised with the reactions (remember winelle everyone?). People get way too involved in it. They forget the entertainment part.
Oh well, till next survivor....oh and the many spa visits to come!
